In eastern Germany, on Monday evening, more and more people took to the streets against the high prices and energy policy. According to the police, a good 18,100 participants were counted in elevators and rallies in Thuringia alone. About 2200 people gathered at the largest demo in Gera. The protests were directed, among other things, against the corona measures, against the war in Ukraine, the energy shortage and rising inflation.
In Saxony-Anhalt, the Ministry of the Interior reported around 12,000 demonstrators at 42 meetings across the country. Most of the participants were in Magdeburg with around 2200. The police in Saxony-Anhalt only initiated a nationwide investigation into the use of license plates of unconstitutional organizations.
In Brandenburg, around 7,500 people protested in 39 locations on Monday evening because of the energy crisis, the Ukraine war and the Corona requirements. The largest demonstration took place with around 1,500 participants in Frankfurt an der Oder, as a spokeswoman for the police headquarters in Potsdam said. The demonstrations went on there without any disturbances, it said.
